In the eighties, the arrival of Japanese manufacturers, which are the European market to offer a relatively large number of models, the race began in earnest to intensify. Their models are pulled up in terms of performance, quality and dynamic appearance. During this period, there was a precedent that was apparently important only car enthusiasts. Mazda 626 in the comparative test in the German magazine "Auto Motor und Sport" won the European competition. It was the first time that a Japanese car won a victory in the test of this kind. Of course, the benefits are felt and customers, and this period is marked as the "golden age" of the Japanese automotive industry in Europe.
